SpongeBob SquarePants 25th Anniversary Football Season Takeover was an alt-key art project I was selected to design for Paramount+ during the NFL season, created to mark the 25th anniversary of one of the platform’s most recognizable franchises. The piece was developed for a high-visibility campaign moment, tying a major brand milestone to one of Paramount+’s biggest seasonal viewing windows.

The challenge was to reinterpret SpongeBob through a football-season lens without losing the personality that makes the brand instantly recognizable. The artwork needed to feel playful and unmistakably SpongeBob, but also bigger, bolder, and more event-driven so it could sit naturally within a sports-heavy promotional environment. It had to compete visually in a space built around energy, spectacle, and fast reads.

Because the alt-key art was intended for prominent Paramount+ placement and supporting campaign applications, I focused heavily on composition, hierarchy, and overall readability. The goal was to create something that landed immediately at a glance, carried the right sense of scale, and still held together across larger digital placements. I paid close attention to the balance between character, typography, and branding so the piece could work both as a campaign image and as a premium platform asset.

This was one of the more visible projects I worked on, and it required a careful balance of creative interpretation, brand consistency, and promotional impact. The final alt-key art helped turn the 25th anniversary into a real event moment on the platform, connecting entertainment and sports in a way that felt timely, fun, and distinctly Paramount+.

This project reflects my ability to develop alt-key art for major platform moments where franchise storytelling, cultural timing, and high-visibility campaign design all need to come together.
